Ocean Village Cruises Announce New Caribbean ItinerariesOcean Village Cruises have announced that they will be running fourteen-night cruises in the Caribbean during winter 2009-10. The line’s two cruise vessels offer three different fly-cruise options with prices starting at £1,199 pp. This will price includes a 45% early booking discount. Head of marketing communications - Gill Haynes said that, “For the first timers, we’ve island-rich itineraries where they can wake up nearly every day at the sort of dream destinations that spring to mind when people think of the Caribbean – St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada and the British Virgin Islands. For seasoned cruisers who have perhaps already visited a number of Caribbean favourites, we also have a Grand Tour option which takes them off the beaten track from Barbados all the way to the Panama Canal, Costa Rica and Grand Cayman and back again.” New destinations on itineraries departing from Barbados include Grand Turk, Mayreau, Samana in the Dominican Republic and Colon for Panama Canal trips. All cruises announced are fourteen nights in duration which, according to Ocean Village Cruises, reflects current passenger preference for two week cruises in the Caribbean. We had a lovely time on Ocean village in March -April this year.We enjoyed 24 days on this marvellous ship.Food was lovely and you are spoiled for choice. The excursion were most enjoyable. The High nPoint was a picnic on a deserted Carabian Island. We had seen some fantastic sites in the world and my photographs remind of this lovely time. The entertainment was second to none. The shopping area is very beautiful, and the staff always help you.We hope to take a carabian holiday again on this ship.

We had a fantastic holiday on Ocean Village in 2007 to the Caribbean. However, we were disappointed that we missed our stops at Ocho Rios and the Caymen Islands due to 'weather conditions'. The reason for booking with Ocean Village was down to the ITENATRY and it was very disappointing. Reason given we know was not correct as we arrived before many other ships who came past us to secure anchorage. We were told that we were too late to obtain one of the 4 anchorages available? The other criticism I would have is that Ocean Village advise that they have no control of what passangers choose to do. Hense we attended a late night commedian with a family of children aged 5 to 14 watching from the front while the parents choose to sit in the smokers bar while both the commedians and our evening was spoilt. I HOPE THEY ENJOYED THEMSELVES. As I would like to give them my opinion. If you have cruised before although the food is adequate it is nothing on the full dinning options provided by CARNIVAL who we have cruise with before. I will certainly be going for the more peaceful option in the future.

Having travelled with Cunard, P&O, Fred Olsen, Thomson and First Choice to name a few. I would like to say that I found that the food was of a very high standard and on par with other Cruise Lines, the only difference is that its Buffet Service. I have had problems with passengers behaviour on other ships, its not just Ocean Village, its the kind of World we live in. As for not visiting Ports, this is something you have to except and its clearly stated in ALL brochures that itineries can change due to adverse weather conditions. I would prefer to miss out on itinery as my safety and that of fellow passengers is more important. You should also consider the cost of the cruise compared with other Cruise Lines, Ocean Village give passengers a chance to travel on larger more modern ships at a fraction of the price of its sister Companies.
