Ocean Village Two's Godmothers Named

Ocean Village Two is set to become the UK's first ship to boast two Godmothers when sisters Jodie and Jemma Kidd smash the bottle on Tuesday 24 April 2007 in Southampton. Supermodel Jodie and celebrity make up artist Jemma are set to join a very select band of Godmothers which mainly includes members of the Royal family and Dames of the realm.

Jodie and Jemma, 'It's a real buzz to be invited to be Godmothers to Ocean Village Two. Despite being sisters we don't often get to work together so this is a dream invitation and a real honour. We're already practising our bottle smashing techniques so that it all goes with a swing - and a bang - on the day!'

Says Peter Shanks, Managing Director, Ocean Village, 'We feel Jodie and Jemma make the perfect ship-mates for Ocean Village Two with their zest for life and the fact that they're both into the high adrenaline, fun activities which Ocean Village is famous for. They're both keen horse riders and Jodie's shown real talent for motor racing - with the ship calling at Monte Carlo and offering numerous chances to go horse riding by the sea; we feel the sisters' interests are well aligned with the sort of holidays we offer. Jodie and Jemma both seem to make the most of life and have a great sense of fun and playfulness - which is what Ocean Village is all about.'

Instead of the usual black tie and tiara festivities that normally accompany a ship naming, Ocean Village Two's celebrations will see a specially invited crowd of celebrity friends enjoying an evening of full-on entertainment including stand up comedy and the premiere of a brand new dance show as well as performances from 1980s disco divas Jaki Graham and Angie Brown.

After the naming, Ocean Village Two will embark on its maiden voyage from Southampton on 25 April 2007, sailing to Gibraltar, Cartagena (Spain) and Barcelona before arriving in Palma, Majorca.

For the summer season Ocean Village Two will be based in Palma offering 7 night and 14 night Mediterranean itineraries from as little as £481, calling at Heraklion, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Cephalonia, Katakolon, Athens, Heraklion.
