Being a first time cruiser I was apprehensive about doing a cruise but after arriving at the ship I was pleasantly surprised. The food was quite good with a choice of two buffet restaurants and 2 restaurants which you had to pay extra for Le Bistro and La Luna we didn't bother with either of these, the only thing I would tell people about is make sure your financies are in good order on your credit card as my gripe with ocean village two is that its all about the hard sell on trips and everything else, they were even charging £2.50 if you wanted a packed lunch to take on the shore I thought an all you can eat inclusive meant just that not to be charged extra for everything. I wouldn't recommend ocean village if your on a budget.

Oh dear. Excursions are booked for you with outside agents in both hotels/holiday complexes and ships. The ship (in the case of excursions) is like a travel agent, they do not run the trips themselves. Would you expect your travel agent to provide free packed lunches? Its great they do as very few do (it saves you a lot of money whilst on your excursion). £2.50!!!! Where in Britain can you get a packed lunch including drink for £2.50? Even 'meal deals' provided by Boots/Sainsburys/M&S (nearest thing i can think of to a packed lunch)start at £3.99 !! Also,In ANY business customers are encouraged to purchase more through extra selling. Trips, duty free etc. on ships. Travel agents - car parking/transfers, airport lounges/seat upgrade etc. Eyeshadow - buy mascara and so it goes on !! this was your first cruise and you didnt go on any excursions so your miss understanding is possible but not well thought through. You obviously like the entertainment (shows), food and staff very much so based on your own ratings it should have been 4 star. Your only gripes being selling trips (which you didnt use) and the size of the cabin. Cabins on this ship are large compared to most modern cruise ships so you are mistaken when you say they are smaller than you are used to as you have no previous experience. Rather than being negative you actually appear to have really enjoyed yourself. Happy cruising.

Apologies I missed typed the sentence about the cabins it should have said the cabins are smaller than I am used to because I am used to apartments and hotels on land.
