This was our first ever cruise and we appproached it not knowing what to expect. The Ocean Village organisation of its passengers was extremely good with numerous members of staff at every point of contact, ie at Gatwick Airport and Palma, each one only to pleased to help. The cruise itself was very pleasant and the staff aboard were superb in every way. We cannot praise them too highly. The destinations were OK with the exception of Tunis, which as everybody knows is a dump. The food aboard was very good with a varied menu at every sitting. Only the very fussiest of eaters would not find something to suit their needs. We found the pool deck too noisy and packed, though you must bear in mind our ages, but even some of the younger passengers found it far too "full in the face" for comfort. The back of the ship was much quieter, but deck loungers and chairs are soon snapped up by "German like" passengers. On reflection, we feel that a more stringent smoking policy should be introduced as it seemed to us that you could smoke wherever you liked without being challenged. All in all we must say that Ocean Village give very good value for money and we certainly enjoyed our weeks cruise. Whether we would sail with them again, we are not quite sure.

I should have rated the food higher but I listed my review late at night and maybe wanted to finish as quick as I could. The food deserves four stars as it really is extremely good, with a superb variety. I should also have mentioned that the smoking problem only occurred on the decks as nobody appeared to smoke inside the vessel.
