Our first cruise, choose OV 2 to set the standard. we were upgraded to a room with balcony 3 weeks before our holiday and we found it wonderful. I was impressed with recycling bins on deck for different materials and also attitude towards dealing with avoiding the infection, norovirus, by everyone having to gel their hands on entering restaurants. It worried me before booking cruise so I felt a little reassured by their actions.
We went on trips in every port as we find we learn a lot more about the area through the guides, and boy, were they good. I had read in reviews not to bother getting off ship in Tunisia, but found it fasinating. Florence just too fast and furious but highlighted the wish to go back for a long weeekend. Wine Tasting and visit to nougat making farm with guide Patrick was great, relaxed ,and full of cooking info, I could have stayed forever and the dark nougat is the best ever.
Will Martin appeared on ship, but we didn't make great use of entertainment but was impressed with the choice of activies during day and night.
What we decided for our future cruises, smaller ship, no flying, balcony, waiter service (Bistro was great) but will not rule out OV again.
Thank you, ships staff, everyone so helpful, organisation everywhere was like the British Army, I was totally impressed. Morverngirl
