Where do I start! What a fantastic time we had and it far outweighed our expectations for our first ever cruise.

I had read many positive and negative reviews about Ocean Village and was a little apprehensive to say the least. On arrival in Crete we collected our cases and went to find our coach. We could see the ship in the distance which didn't look very big to me! However, we arrived at the Port and what we saw was this huge ship fully lit up with smart Ocean Village staff showing us the way through the Port Terminal which was very well administered. We registered our credit cards and were given our card keys and passes and on board we went. Wow we thought - this is a floating hotel and is home for the next week. We finally found our cabin and were delighted with what we saw. We had an inside cabin, midship, which was very spacious, and suited us fine. We didn't even feel the ship sailaway and the next thing we knew we were in the middle of the ocean! I was so impressed with this as I was very concerned about sea sickness.

We unpacked and went to have a look around - got lost I don't know how many times but it was all an adventure. We found one of the restaurants (Plantations) and had a feast and then had a few drinks and caught the last of the entertainment before settling down for the night.

Next day was at sea and a chance to look around the ship. We were favourably impressed with everything that we saw. The decor, staff and food were all excellent and the entertainment was a good mixture of shows and singers. I couldn't say which restaurant was our favourite as we had such good food in all, although we did not try The Bistro. La Luna did a wicked fish and chips at lunch time and Plantations had very naughty scones and cream for afternoon tea which you had to have two of as one was never enough! The service in the restaurants and bars was always very friendly and attentive and the prices of drinks were very favourable and reasonable and all well known brands.

We did a few excursions which were very good although a little expensive but were enjoyable.

Although this was an informal cruise most people did make the effort to dress smartly for dinner.

We were really impressed with Ocean Village and had a wonderful time onboard and would definately recommend this cruise to all.

It is a shame that not everybody had experienced the wonderful time we had.

It was all over far too quickly and now have to think about our next cruise!!
Quality of Food5
Always plenty of choice wherever you eat. Fantastic scones and cream in Plantations and sweets to die for. It would be very hard not to find anything on the menu you liked!
Entertainment3
Most enjoyable was female comedian and Rod Stewart show.
Shore Excursions4
Santorini was a very good excursion although I did not expect to go to winery at 08.30am and sample the wares! - the courier was very informative.
Staff4
Nobody in particular stood out but all the staff in the restaurants and bars were very friendly. Our cabin steward, Joseph, was always around to help.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities2
The daily quizes and pool activities were good but felt the bingo was a bit misleading!
Cabins5
Cabins were more than adequate and a very good size. Shower was huge and always had hot water. Plenty of hanging and drawer space. Fridge, safe and TV were an added bonus.
Overall Rating4
